Scientists have found a new way of overcoming the feeling of growing thin

The British scientists have come to the conclusion that the diet with the raised maintenance of fiber raises a level of the hormone overwhelming the false famine feeling. The results of the experiment lead by them with laboratory animals allow understanding, why the low-carbohydrate diets lead to the fast weight loss. During the research London University college employees have been studying the influence of the low-carbohydrate diets with the raised proteins maintenance on weight of the experimental mice.
According to the research, the mice, which received forage with the greater maintenance of fiber, typed weight much more slowly, than their colleagues, who received the usual forage, did. Besides in organisms of mice from the first group the raised levels of the so-called YY peptide (PYY) - a hormone which, as scientists assume, promotes the suppression of false famine feeling, have also been found out. The hypothesis about the ability of PYY with hormone to supervise appetite has been investigated by the scientists several years ago; however a number of observers expressed with doubts in validity of their conclusions.
Since then the question of PYY’s role in the human organism remained a subject of discussion. The researchers used genetically modified mice which did not have the gene bearing the information on structure of this hormone in order to confirm the hypothesis about PYY’s role and also about its connection with the level with consumption of fiber. Unlike the normal mice, genetically modified rodents, following the rich fibers diet, continued to type weight with usual speed.
However their increase in weight was sharply reduced after the beginning of PYY’s synthetic analogue injections. According to the scientists, the results of experiment can throw a light on the mechanisms underlying the so-called low-carbohydrate diets, for example Atkins Diet. Numerous researches have shown, that such diets can to lead to fast weight reduction, however the reasons of this salutary effect are still remaining unknown. The researchers consider that they have finally found a right answer: people, following to the Atkins Diet cease to feel famine - and this is the main secret of growing thin. At the same time the scientists are far from recommending such diets to all wishing to get rid of superfluous kilograms. Lack of carbohydrates and surplus of fiber can lead to the increase of level of cholesterol, and also to the infringement of functions of a liver, kidneys and other organs.  In the nearest future of London University College employees are going to start a new series of clinical researches with the participation of volunteers for more detailed studying the low- carbohydrate diets influence on the health.
